Hello, I am Trainer Chloe!

AW&B Founder and Behavioural Dog Trainer

I started this business at the age of 21, in my final year of university and at the start of a pandemic after seeing a huge gap within the dog training industry and wanting to make a difference in the lives of dogs and their families.

Growing up, I’ve always loved learning about animals and how us humans interact with them in ways that help us understand them better. Being told the animal industry was too competitive and it would never work out for me, I gave up on the dream of working with animals pretty quickly and ended up floating around between different university degrees and jobs. I finally decided to listen to my heart and start Animal Science at University where I met Paige, my head trainer (who you all know and love). My uni degree allowed me to explore different pathways of working with animals and allowed me to travel all over the world working with animals from marine environments to the rainforests and Australian Bush lands.

I always knew I wanted a job that “helped” but never knew what that meant. When my childhood Labrador, Lucy got sick and lost mobility in her legs, I started looking into all different types of courses and came across animal rehabilitation which somehow led me to dog training. I shadowed some other trainers in NSW and worked out pretty quickly that dog training was more than just teaching dogs tricks and entering dog shows… it was about saving lives and helping families!

Upon my shadow experience and immersing myself into the dog training industry, I noticed that there was a huge lack of understanding from industry professionals and that dog training goes beyond training a dog to be obedient - it should be about building a great relationship with owners and their dogs and teaching the owners themselves how to live harmoniously with their dogs and to provide them with the confidence to rebuild their relationship with their dog. It is about teamwork!

I strongly believe that dog training is not always about working with dogs, it is about working with people, and having this belief has helped me to save many dogs and help hundreds, if not thousands of families.

The one thing that made me know dog training was the job for me was when a mentor asked me - “What would you do for work, if money wasn’t involved”. Every day I wake up excited to train dogs. I do it because I love my clients and I love working with people to make their lives with their dogs better. It is my true passion.

Since starting my business in 2020, I have developed a great team of strong, independent and compassionate workers who inspire me to be better and do better every day. At AW&B, we have made it our goal to educate others and create a community that is supportive and inclusive of all.

No dog is untrainable, we are here to help them all.

Hey, I am Trainer Paige!

AW&B Head Dog Trainer

Hello!

My name is Paige Hamilton & I am Animal Wellness and Behaviour’s head trainer.

I have been working here with Chloe for almost as long as she had started this business and I have loved every second of it. Helping people with their dogs is my passion, it’s what gets me out of bed in the morning. My aim is to provide my clients with the most up to date skills and knowledge to help train their OWN dogs to the best of their ability, with a massive emphasis on creating a better bond and relationship between both dog and owner.

My philosophy for dog training is that it’s never a one size fits all, I cater my talents to each individual person and dog so that my clients can achieve their goals in the most effective, ethical and fair way, whilst making sure both the dog and the human are set up for success and have fun doing so. I look up

to people like Jay jack, pat Stuart, Stefanie from methodk9, ivan B & Micheal elis - some of the greats in the dog training industry. Thus, most of my training style reflects their methodologies; strong relationships between dogs and owners that are empowered and strengthened through play, constructive outlets and being clear to your dog.

I strive to empower my clients with the knowledge they need to progress and keep training their dogs even after our sessions have ended. It is truely amazing to watch my clients relationship grow with their dogs day in and day out. I will never stop learning and increasing my knowledge about dogs, canine behaviour & dog training as long as I am in this industry. I always have a few seminars & courses to attend and complete every year.

Hi there, I am Trainer Bella!

AW&B Behavioural Dog Trainer

Hi there,

My name is Bella and I am a trainer here at Animal Wellness and Behaviour. I have been working for the company since May 2022, and it has been my pleasure to be a part of Chloe’s training team at AW&B.

I have been training dogs for 2 years now and my journey to get to this position has been a rollercoaster but I wouldn’t change anything. I had my first experience with training animals, during my placement on the Marine Mammals Team and Taronga Zoo. From there I worked at the RSPCA Katoomba where I specifically worked and trained with cats and dogs and conducted animal behaviour assessments, finally I found my place at AW&B.

I have a love for dog behaviour and all aspects in dog communication with other dogs and of course the pawrents/hoomans. Improving relationships between man and his best friend is one of the most fulfilling parts of my job and of course my client’s journey. I love teaching people new information that they didn’t know that their pet possesses and expresses within daily life.

Of course it is expected that we train your dog but in fact we train you! Each dog and its corresponding daily life are different and being able to adjust and ensure results are provided to each individual case is priority to me and my training techniques. I am very goal orientated and hope to run my training sessions in line with the goals of my clients whether that be walking your dog for 5 minutes, have a boss recall or improving home routine to better enrich your dog or settling within the home. Whatever the goal I strive to ensure that it is reached.

I conduct group classes and love the wholesome community aspect of our AW&B Pack walks. I like to remind our community that they are never alone in there training Journey and AW&B is fully all-embracing company here to ensure your reach and achieve your training goals.

Training never ceases, dog training is ever evolving, and I aspire to be the best I can be so my learning will be ever continuing throughout my career to better enable myself to teach and train those who want to learn and improve their pet’s animal needs.
