AW&B’s Puppy Program

Our puppy program can either be done in a group class or in one on one sessions and includes all essential training to help you raise the best dog possible with skills they can carry through adulthood and the rest of their life. Our Puppy Program has been designed by qualified and experienced trainers and offers much more than just a normal puppy school does! We not only teach your pup the basics, but are able to how YOU as an owner how to raise a great dog!

We will teach your dog how to walk loosely on a lead, how to come when called, impulse control and focus training, as well as how to build engagement with your dog and make sure that they develop into great adult dogs. We can also help out with home routine such as bed time, toilet training and any specific issues such as separation anxiety, biting and jumping.

This program will not only show you how to physically train your puppy, but will also give you an insight to dog behaviour and psychology, as well as an in-depth view on puppy learning patterns and other ways to keep your pup actively engaged in their training. We give you as an owner the tools and knowledge to train your pup and become a great leader, us trainers don't do all the work so be prepared to put in some hard work and dedication!

Our AW&B Puppy School is catered to dogs 5 months and under.

Our puppy school is perfect for those who want to start their dog off with success working in a group environment, learning all about how to set your puppy up to be confident and happy and have safe socialisation!

• PUPPIES 5 MONTHS & UNDER

• GROUPS OF 5 TO 6 PUPS / CLASS

WEEK 1:

• Tether exercises

• Marker words

• Teaching ‘sit’ & ‘down’

• Introduction to place training & Impulse Control

• Teaching ‘touch’

• Teaching ‘focus’

• Safe and supervised play of puppies in small groups with our behavioural specialists pointing out certain behaviours.

WEEK 2:

• Recap of week 1

• Complete week 2 challenge

• Building duration in sits and downs

• Building distance with sits and downs

• Start of recall training

• Start of loose leash walking/heel work

• Safe and supervised play of puppies in small groups with our behavioural specialists pointing out certain behaviours.

Week 3:

• Recap of week 2

• Exposure work using things we have learnt

• Complete week 2 challenge

• Teaching automatic sits when walking

• Correct play with toys

• Teaching an ‘out’ command

• Teaching a ‘leave it’ command

• Safe and supervised play of puppies in small groups with our behavioural specialists pointing out certain behaviours.

Week 4:

• Confidence building

• All pups do an activity course that focuses on getting the puppies used to tunnels, small jumps, water, noises, uneven surfaces, & different heights. This activity course is designed to be a bonding, and trust building experience between owner and puppy to encourage a healthy pup and owner relationship, whilst building confidence and resilience in our young pups to help prepare them for the world.
